Why Hire a Pet Sitter?

Vacationing                                6723_brown_dog_mascot_cartoon_character_trying_to_hold_it_in_but_has_to_go_pee.jpg

Going on a vacation and can’t bring your furry family member with you? You have only a few options for caring for your pet.

  • Ask a friend or neighbor to look after him. Sure they will love the inconvenience of that.

  • Boarding Kennel.  Your pet will hate you forever.

If your neighbor is looking after your pet, are you certain they will care for your pets as you would. What if dinner, or a phone call or company has them distracted? Not to mention the inconvenience for them to feed and care for you pet.

Leaving your pet at a boarding kennel is time-consuming, stressful and for some owners it’s difficult to leave your pet in a caged environment. You also need to worry about fleas, Kennel Cough, and other diseases that your pet can be in contact with at a kennel. Taking your pet from the comfort of their home while you’re away can cause them stress which can affect their eating and sleeping as well as their general well-being.

Management assures you that your dog will receive excellent care, but truth be told, things don't always happen the way management assumes it should. To the staff that works there, it's just another part-time minimum wage job.

Feeding and medication instructions are clearly written out for each doggy guest. But at the end of the day, when staff is ready to go home, not all instructions are followed to the letter. Some dogs do not get exact portions or mixtures of food, and some are skipped all together. Do you think Joe Kennelattendent really cares if your dog is hungry once he leaves for the day?
